Green Deck, which was founded by Anthony Agnew, is a facilitator in renewable energy project development. We source and broker funding for developers of sustainable energy projects worldwide.

Through our network of over 400 renewable specific investors, we help developers secure funding to deliver projects, platforms (lots of projects) as well as selling (whether pre or post construction). Whilst not core, we have a wider network to source debt (construction capital and refinancing).

Anthony has over thirteen years of renewable project development experience, from initial site survey stage right through to operational. Anthony also has direct transaction experience in development acquisitions, both on the buy side (as Development Director at Yoo Energy, a position still held) and sell side (including selling his own developed UK solar farm).

Having raised capital for his own projects by securing initial development investment and JV structures, client coms, development, through to sourcing buyers, negotiating and then closing sale purchase agreements, he understands the process, risk, value and requirements on both sides of a transaction.

Anthony Agnew

Anthony is a self-confessed renewable geek, finding the technology, people and implementation (cat herding) endlessly fascinating and rewarding.

Anthony’s mix of sustainable engineering, project development and finance have him ideally placed to help clients secure funding. Having successfully developed his own 23-acre solar farm in Cornwall in 2014, he went on to work under JV with investors on both wind farms and solar projects in the UK. As an entrepreneur, Anthony has run his own businesses over the last 17 years, in both the UK and Asia.

Not at all relevant but perhaps interesting; while completing his Engineering master’s with Honours in Design, Anthony founded and ran a vodka company for seven years as a European luxury lifestyle brand to the rapidly growing middle class, which at peak employed 35 people with four offices in East Coast China.

His more relevant experience includes starting and running for six years, a sustainable heating and power business, installing for domestic, commercial and industrial clients. The business combined a range of technologies as a fully accredited installer; solar PV, solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps (also in installing heat networks, battery and energy efficiency systems). Clients ranged from domestic to agricultural, up to MOD and housing associations.

Anthony has direct development experience in solar, wind, EFW and battery. He has closed funding for clients in solar, battery storage and geothermal. He’s also invested personally into the hydrogen (and graphene) economy, operational solar in India and in an energy-from-waste developer in the North East of England.

His hobbies include reading about renewable technologies, chasing and being chased by his 5-year-old son, cuddling his baby daughter, learning from his wife, cooking for family and friends (having trained as a chef) and trying to keep up with his dog, Rio (who loves home offices).
